We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated English Teacher to join our thriving English Department at our outstanding secondary school. Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging English lessons across Key Stages 3-5
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback
- Contribute to curriculum development and departmental initiatives
- Support students’ personal and academic development
- Participate in whole-school activities and events
- Maintain high standards of classroom management and student behaviour
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across the department and wider school
Essential Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Degree in English Literature, English Language, or related subject
- Proven experience teaching English at secondary level
- Strong subject knowledge across literature, language
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- Commitment to high educational standards and student achievement
- Ability to differentiate learning for students of all abilities
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience teaching A-Level English Literature and/or Language
- Additional qualifications in English or Education
- Experience with examination specifications (AQA, Edexcel, OCR)
- Knowledge of current educational initiatives and pedagogical approaches
- Experience in pastoral care or additional responsibilities
