Personal Assistant to Headteacher

About the role

Connex Education Partnership is working with Corpus Christi Catholic Academy Trust who are looking for a Personal Assistant for the schools headteacher

Assignment Details

This is a full time role starting ASAP running until the end of the academic year in July

Hours: Mon-Fri 8:30 -1:30

Main purpose of the post

  • To oversee and contribute to an effective administration service to the school, ensuring duties are assigned and cover, including supply, is arranged where necessary
  • To be responsible for communications between the school and parents/carers, including briefing notes, newsletters, letters home and some telephone calls
  • To act as a personal assistant to the Headteacher in meeting the varied and changing administrative and organisational needs of the school.
  • To support the Headteacher in the smooth execution of a personal diary of events and organisation for meeting deadlines
  • To be responsible for the maintenance and publication of the school calendar on the website and social media pages.
  • With close liaison with the Headteacher and SLT to ensure that in relation to the catering and facilities staff, duties such as ordering of refreshments, room booking requirements, servicing meetings are carried out by the administration team
  • To work alongside the Headteacher, school business manager and other trust staff to manage and welcome visitors and support the administration of the school.
    • Assist and support the hosting of events that take place in school.

Person Specification

  • GCSEs Maths and English at Grade C or above
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in MS Office applications e.g. Word, Excel
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and databases
  • Excellent planning and coordination abilities
  • Administrative experience preferably in an school/office environment
  • Experience with staff absence reporting and cover coordination (desirable)
  • Understanding of school administrative processes and data management systems (desirable)
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Team player with good interpersonal skills
