SEND Teaching Assistants Required

Location: Waltham Forest
Salary: Up to £500 per week (depending on experience & qualifications)

Start Date: January 2025

About the Role
Connex Education work with a number of schools and provisions within the Waltham Forest area, and we are currently recruiting SEND Teaching Assistants to join our Connex team to work within our schools on a full-time, long term basis, providing 1:1 support for pupils with SEND.

As a SEND Teaching Assistant you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with additional needs. You will work closely with the school’s SEND team and liaise with the Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO) to implement Education Health Care Plans (EHCPs). The role involves working in small groups and providing 1:1 support to ensure pupils’ needs are met.

You will join a supportive team of SEND Teachers and Teaching Assistants, committed to fostering a positive learning experience for all pupils.

Assignment Details

  • Full-time roles, Monday to Friday.
  • Working hours: Between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM (depending on the school).
  • Both short term and long-term roles available.

Person Specification

  • Relevant qualification in SEND or Teaching and Learning (desirable).
  • Experience supporting pupils in a school or similar setting.
  • Confidence working with small groups or 1:1.
  • Good knowledge of different types of Special Educational Needs.
  • A current DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one through Connex.
