Connex Education is seeking a Team Teach Trained Teaching Assistant to support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in a supportive and inclusive school in Barking. This role is perfect for individuals with experience in behaviour management who are dedicated to creating a safe, structured, and positive learning environment.

⏳ Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 4:00 pm

Who We’re Looking For
We are searching for a passionate and resilient individual who meets the following criteria:
✔ Team Teach certification (essential)
✔ Experience working with SEN, SEMH, and behavioural needs
✔ Knowledge of behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques
✔ Ability to provide 1:1 and small group support, adapting to individual learning needs
✔ Patience, empathy, and resilience in challenging situations
✔ A positive and proactive mindset when supporting students’ well-being
✔ A DBS check on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support, helping students engage with their learning
- Implement Team Teach strategies to encourage positive behaviour and de-escalate situations
- Support the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs)
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and support staff to maintain an inclusive learning environment
- Help students build independence, confidence, and resilience through structured interventions
- Monitor and provide feedback on student progress, behaviour, and emotional well-being
- Support students with personal care or sensory needs if required
