We strive to provide the best quality tutors and mentors to support the academic and social progress of pupils. In order to bolster our already robust recruitment and vetting processes, our Quality Assurance and Impact Team are pleased to work in collaboration with schools and commissioners to implement our Programmes of Tutoring and Mentoring Excellence.

The progress and wellbeing of pupils and our tutors is at the heart of our quality assurance processes. That is why we have the following 4 pillars of quality assurance.
To ensure that all pupils are receiving the best tutoring and mentoring possible, allowing them to make academic and social progress, growing as young learners.
To ensure that our tutors and mentors feel valued and supported in their own professional growth.
To inform a comprehensive development package for tutors and mentors, allowing them to continue with their own professional development.
To maintain the highest standards of safeguarding and compliance across Connex Education Partnership to ensure a safe working environment for all.
Programme of Tutoring Excellence
Ensures that tutors deliver sessions to the highest standards, ensuring pupils make accelerated progress. We are committed to continuous professional development so that tutors are aware of current teaching themes and pedagogy to best support their pupils.
ACADEMIC TUTORS
Ongoing CPD
All Connex Education Partnership tutors will engage in ongoing reviews with the Quality Assurance and Impact team designed to capture examples of best practice and areas for development from tutoring sessions. These will be used to inform follow-up CPD opportunities for each individual tutor.
Tutors are expected to plan all tuition sessions in line with Connex Education’s 22 standards of tutoring excellence which sit under the 4 key principles below:

Each of the four principles are divided into a total of 22 standards that will be reviewed as part of the Quality Assurance process.
PUPIL SUPPORT MENTORS
Programme of
Mentoring Excellence
Designed to support the professional development of the mentor alongside the pastoral development of the pupil. It ensures that mentors are delivering appropriate content through relevant channels to maximise the impact on the pupil through positive professional relationships. We are committed to continuous professional development enabling our mentors to best meet the needs of the pupils through relevant training.
PUPIL SUPPORT MENTORS
Ongoing CPD
All Connex Education Partnership mentors will take part in regular reviews with the Quality Assurance and Impact team designed to capture examples of high-quality intervention and identify professional development needs for the mentor. Each individual mentor will be provided with one-to-one support from one of our experienced assessors who will discuss bespoke training opportunities and celebrate successes.
Mentors are expected to plan mentoring sessions in line with Connex Education’s 22 standards of mentoring excellence which sit under the 4 key principles below:
