Job Title: British Sign Language (BSL) Tutor

About the Role:
Connex Education is seeking an experienced and passionate British Sign Language (BSL) Tutor for a long-term placement based in Bournville, Birmingham. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of learners by promoting inclusive communication and Deaf awareness. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality BSL lessons tailored to a variety of learning styles and abilities.

Person Specification:
-
Proficient in British Sign Language (Level 3 minimum, Level 6 or native signer preferred)

QTS or teaching qualification (or equivalent experience in a tutoring/teaching role)

Experience working with SEND and/or Deaf learners

Strong ability to engage and motivate reluctant learners
-
Resilience and ability to remain calm under pressure

Driving license (preferred but not essential)

Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to apply for one)

A positive, enthusiastic approach and high professional standards
