Job Title: BSL Tutor
Location: Birmingham
Pay: £750 – £1,125 per week (variable rate)
About the role
Connex Education is recruiting for a passionate and experienced BSL Tutor to provide one-to-one tuition for a student who is currently unable to access mainstream education. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference by using your skills in British Sign Language to support learning, communication, and personal development.
Tuition will take place in the student’s home, with a parent or guardian present. Sessions are tailored to the individual’s needs, focusing on building confidence, developing communication, and supporting their educational progress.
Assignment Details:

What You’ll Need:

QTS or equivalent (HLTA/experienced LSA considered)

Strong BSL skills (minimum Level 3)

Experience using PECS is essential

Confident working with SLD and non-verbal students

A resilient and calm approach, even when things get challenging

A valid enhanced DBS (on the update service or willing to apply)

Driving licence preferred but not essential
