About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Music Teacher to join our vibrant secondary school community in Wythenshawe. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified teacher to make a meaningful impact on students’ musical education during the autumn term.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging music lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
- Teach a range of musical styles, instruments, and theoretical concepts
- Support students in practical music-making, composition, and performance
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback
- Contribute to school concerts, productions, and musical events
- Maintain high standards of classroom management and student behaviour
- Work collaboratively with the music department and wider school team
Essential Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Degree in Music or related subject
- Experience teaching music at secondary level
- Strong instrumental/vocal skills and music theory knowledge
- Ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities
- Excellent classroom management skills
- Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain)
Desirable Qualities
- Experience with music technology and recording software
- Ability to teach multiple instruments
- Experience directing school ensembles or choirs
- Knowledge of current music curriculum requirements
- Passion for contemporary and diverse musical genres
