SEN Tutor (QTS) — Flexible, Impactful 1:1 SEN Sessions

What You’ll Do

  • Plan and deliver engaging 1:1 English, Maths or Science sessions tailored to each child’s strengths and needs.
  • Assess progress, record outcomes and share feedback with parents and multi-agency professionals.
  • Support students’ social and emotional development, addressing behaviour and wellbeing as needed.
  • Supervise safety, build trust and ensure every session is a positive learning experience.
  • Attend occasional virtual meetings and professional check-ins outside lesson hours.

Who You Are

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with at least 5 years’ experience teaching and assessing in primary and/or secondary settings.
  • Minimum 5 years’ specialist SEN experience (autism, ADHD, dyslexia, PDA, ADD, dysgraphia, global developmental delay).
  • At least 2 years’ experience supporting children who have experienced trauma.
  • Proven ability to boost pupils’ confidence, self-esteem and engagement.
  • Exceptional patience, creativity and skill in applying differentiated teaching techniques.
  • Excellent communication, literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Valid enhanced DBS on the Update Service, and willingness to obtain public liability and professional indemnity insurance.

How to Apply

  1. Confirm you hold QTS, have 5+ years SEN experience and at least 10 hours’ availability, Monday to Friday.
  2. Prepare for a phone interview and in-person interview
