Job Opportunity: Youth Mentor
Location: Birmingham, UK
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time / Flexible Hours
Rate: £18-£23 per hour depending on experience
About the Role
Are you passionate about empowering young people to reach their full potential? We’re looking for a dedicated and inspiring Youth Mentor to join our dynamic home tuition team. In this role, you’ll provide guidance, support, and encouragement to young individuals, helping them navigate challenges, build confidence, and develop life skills and support academics.
Key Responsibilities
- Build trusting relationships with young people through regular mentoring sessions
- Support personal development, goal setting, and emotional wellbeing
- Facilitate 1:1 workshops and activities on topics like resilience, communication, and career planning and pathways.
- Liaise with families, schools, and local authorities to ensure holistic support, and mediated learning
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to impact reporting
What We’re Looking For
- Experience working with young people in educational, social care, or community settings
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Empathy, patience, and a non-judgmental approach
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A relevant qualification in youth work, social work, counselling, education, or similar (desirable but not essential)
✅ Requirements
- Enhanced DBS check (we can support this process)
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
- Evidence of SEN/SEMH experience within a teaching and mentoring capacity
- Familiar with EHCP plans
