Connex Education is working with a mainstream primary school in the Middlesbrough area who are recruiting for a SEND Teaching Assistant to work part-time, working with a child with SEND needs on a 1:1 basis. You MUST have the right to work in the UK to apply for this role.

About the school

A Middlesbrough primary school seeks a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil with additional needs. You’ll work closely with the SENCO, contribute to education health care plans, and join a supportive team of specialists. The role involves working with individuals and small groups in a nurturing environment focused on helping every child thrive.

Assignment Details

This is  a full time role working Monday to Friday, the right candidate MUST be able to work form 8:30am – 3:30pm. Experience working in KS2 is essential for this role however we will also consider KS1 experience. You must also have experience working with visual impairment to be considered for the position. This role will be ongoing with a September start.

Person Specification

  • Hold a Relevant Qualification in SEND or Teaching Assistant – desirable 
  • Have experience of supporting pupils in a school or similar setting
  • Be confident working with small groups or on a 1:1 basis
  • Good Knowledge of different types of Special Needs 
  • Have a current DBS on the update service or willing to apply for a new one with Connex
