Connex Education is proud to be supporting a wonderful Primary school in Sheffield(S5) as they are seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEND-focused Teaching Assistant to join their team as soos as possible, this role is to support a YR 1 child in and out of the classroom and subject to relationship could lead to permanent employment.
This is a full time role, Monday to Friday, working closely with a pupil who has Special Educational Needs. You will provide 1:1 support, to help the child settle into a classroom routine, and assisting the child with establishing new relationships with pupils and staff. and will need personal care
What you’ll be doing:
- Providing tailored 1:1 support to a child with autism
- Working collaboratively with teachers and the SENCO to ensure pupils thrive
- Helping to create a nurturing, inclusive and positive learning environment
- Assisting with routines, smooth transitions, and personalised support plans
- Happy to do personal care
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience working with children with SEND (school-based preferred)
- A patient, caring and proactive approach
- Strong communication skills
- A genuine passion for helping children achieve their potential
