About the role
Connex Education is working in partnership with a welcoming Secondary School in the Burton upon Trent (DE13) area, who are recruiting for a full-time Design and Technology Teacher from January. This is a long-term supply role with the potential to run for the remainder of the academic year.
The role will involve full classroom responsibilities, including delivering Design and Technology lessons across KS3 and KS4. Planning and marking may be required, depending on the school’s needs and timetable. You will be expected to maintain high standards of teaching, behaviour, and pupil engagement.

The school is a well-regarded secondary setting with a strong focus on practical learning, creativity, and pupil development. The Design and Technology department is well-resourced and supported, with a collaborative staff team and a clear curriculum structure in place. They are looking for a committed and adaptable teacher who can confidently deliver engaging D&T lessons and contribute positively to the department.

Person Specification
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant UK teaching qualification
• Experience teaching Design and Technology at secondary level
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
• Knowledge of the KS3 and KS4 curriculum
• Ability to plan and deliver engaging, practical lessons
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
