Teaching Assistant – Key Stage 1
Northwich | Full-Time | 5 Days Per Week
Are you passionate about making a difference in young children’s learning journeys?
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant Key Stage 1 team in Northwich. This is a fantastic opportunity to support the educational and personal development of children aged 5-7 in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
About the Role
Working closely with our teaching staff, you will play a vital role in supporting children’s learning across Year 1 and Year 2. You’ll help create an engaging classroom environment where every child can thrive, with particular focus on supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Support children’s learning in small groups and on a one-to-one basis
- Provide tailored support for pupils with SEN, helping them access the full curriculum
- Assist with classroom preparation, displays, and learning resources
- Support behaviour management and promote positive relationships
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCo, and other professionals
- Help monitor and record pupil progress
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar educational role
- Proven experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs
- Understanding of Key Stage 1 curriculum (desirable)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patient, caring, and enthusiastic approach to working with young children
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
