Computing Specialist Teacher
Start Date: 20th April 2026 (following Easter break)
Contract Type: Full-time, Fixed Term until end of Summer Term 2026 (with possibility of extension) Salary: Main Pay Scale/Upper Pay Scale (dependent on experience)
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Computing Specialist to join our team from April 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to make a real impact on our students’ understanding of computing and digital literacy.
About the Role
You will be responsible for delivering high-quality computing lessons primarily to Key Stage 3 students, fostering their computational thinking skills and preparing them for success in an increasingly digital world. This position requires someone who can hit the ground running and maintain the excellent standards our students deserve.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and well-structured computing lessons across KS3
- Plan and prepare lessons in line with the national curriculum and school schemes of work
- Assess, record and report on student progress through regular marking and feedback
- Maintain high standards of behaviour and create a positive learning environment
- Contribute to the wider life of the Computing department and school community
Essential Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Strong subject knowledge in Computing/Computer Science
- Experience teaching computing at secondary level
- Ability to plan effective lessons and assess student progress
- Excellent classroom management skills
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare
Desirable
- Experience teaching KS4 Computing/Computer Science
- Knowledge of current computing qualifications and specifications
- Ability to contribute to extra-curricular activities
Successful candidates will be required to conduct an interview and complete a vetting process which includes an Enhanced Child Workforce DBS, if you do not have one, you can get one through Connex Education at the cost of £58.
