SEMH Teaching Assistant
£415 – £500 a week.
Location: Bilston, Wolverhampton
**About the role**
Every student deserves the support they require to accomplish the dreams that they have set out for themselves, and we are currently seeking an experienced SEMH Teaching Assistant that can provide our pupils the additional support they need to reach those dreams. If you are the proactive type with a strong passion for education and love to give your job 100% then this role could be perfect for you. You will need to be confident going into a classroom and building strong relationships with pupils in both small groups and on a 1:1 basis. We are looking for a capable individual that understands being a SEMH Teaching Assistant is not simply a job role, it is a way of life. Our small school based near Bilston, Wolverhampton provides a nurturing and proactive learning space with a strong focus on delivering a high quality of education to our dedicated students. We aim to create a vibrant learning environment where our students come to school knowing they are safe and welcomed. We ensure that all student’s accomplishments and successes are recognized, and our dedicated team provides the guidance and support they require to further their knowledge of the world. Students that attend the school have SEMH needs and the ideal candidate will work closely with the student to support social, emotional, and mental healh needs and ensure that the child feels that the school is a safe space for them.

**Role Requirements**
- Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning or Equivalent Level 3 UK Educational qualification is essential.
- Previous experience working with SEN Students would be desirable.
- Previous experience working directly with SEMH (social, emotional and mental health) needs or a background in Mental Health.
- Working in a care background would be considered.
- Team Teach trained would also be desirable.
- Previous experience working in Educational is essential.
- A commitment to promoting equality and diversity in the classroom.
- An understanding of child protection and safeguarding guidelines
- Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one through Connex Education.
