About the Role
Connex Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in the Bootle area to recruit an experienced and dedicated Reception Teacher for a maternity cover position starting in May 2026.
This is a full-time role based in Reception, offering scale pay from day one within a supportive and well-resourced Early Years setting. The school is looking for a teacher who is passionate about early years education and confident delivering the EYFS curriculum, helping children develop strong foundations for their learning journey.
The Ideal Candidate Will

Have at least 1 year of recent experience teaching in a Reception class

Be confident planning and delivering engaging EYFS learning experiences

Demonstrate strong classroom and behaviour management

Have a secure understanding of the EYFS framework and early childhood development

Be nurturing, adaptable and committed to supporting pupil progress

Have excellent communication and teamwork skills

Requirements

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

Minimum 1 year experience teaching in Reception

Strong understanding of the EYFS curriculum
