Salary: £450 – £475 per week (depending on experience and qualifications)

Working Hours: Full-time, Monday–Friday (8:30am – 3:30pm)

About the Role

Connex Education is working with a primary school based in Birkenhead, on the Wirral, who are seeking a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with a Year 5 pupil in the morning and a Year 2 pupil in the afternoon.

Previous experience supporting children with ADHD and managing challenging behaviour within a school environment is essential. We are looking for someone confident, proactive, and able to quickly establish a positive relationship with the child while providing reliable support throughout the school day.

Assignment Details

This role runs Monday to Friday (8:30am–3:30pm). The position starts ASAP in March 2026 and will continue until end of academic year (July 2026).

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • A Level 2/3 teaching assistant qualification is desirable; however, those with relevant school experience will also be considered.
  • GCSE English & Maths (Grade C/4 or above for both) or equivalent Level 2.
  • Current DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for a new one through Connex.
