About the Role
Connex Education is currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant to work full-time in a welcoming mainstream primary school in Wednesbury (WS10). This role involves providing tailored, one-to-one support for a pupil with complex needs, helping them to access learning, develop independence, and thrive within the classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide consistent 1:1 support for a pupil with complex special educational needs
- Implement personalised learning strategies in line with the pupil’s EHCP (if applicable)
- Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals
- Support the pupil’s academic, social, and emotional development
- Use a calm, patient, and nurturing approach to manage behaviour and engagement
- Adapt resources and activities to meet individual needs
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Experience supporting children with SEN, particularly those with complex needs
- A strong understanding of inclusive education practices
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Patience, resilience, and a proactive attitude
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant) are desirable but not essential
