SEND Teaching Assistant
Pay: £427.20 – £498.40 per week
Start Date: ASAP
Hours: Full Time, Monday – Friday
Location: Oldbury
Connex Education are currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Oldbury supporting vulnerable children and young people with additional needs.
This rewarding role involves working closely with students who require extra support both academically and emotionally, helping them build confidence, resilience, and essential life skills within a nurturing school environment.
We are particularly interested in hearing from individuals with backgrounds in youth work, behaviour mentoring, the police force, military services, care work, or those experienced in supporting young people with challenging behaviour.
Responsibilities:

Building positive and lasting relationships with students from challenging backgrounds

Supporting pupils with SEND, SEMH, and behavioural needs on a 1:1 and small group basis

Encouraging students’ social, emotional, and personal development

Helping young people regulate behaviour and make positive choices

Creating a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment

Acting as a positive role model and mentor for students
Requirements:
-
Experience supporting children or young people with challenging behaviour
-
Experience working with students with SEND and/or SEMH needs

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one

Full-time availability, Monday to Friday
