Secondary SEN Teaching Assistant – Full Time (Long-Term Role)
Location: WV14
Pay: £427.20 – £498.40 per week
Start Date: ASAP or September 2026
Hours: Monday to Friday, Full Time

Connex Education is currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate Secondary SEN Teaching Assistant to support students within a specialist secondary school in the WV14 area.
This rewarding role involves working with young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them to access learning, develop confidence, and achieve their full potential both academically and personally.
We are looking for individuals who are passionate about supporting young people and have experience working with children or vulnerable individuals. This role would suit teaching assistants, support workers, youth workers, behaviour mentors, care workers, or those from similar backgrounds.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 and small group support to secondary-aged students with SEN and SEMH needs.

Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.

Support students with their learning, emotional wellbeing, and social development.

Encourage positive behaviour and engagement within the classroom.

Assist teachers in delivering tailored learning activities.

Help students develop independence, confidence, and essential life skills.

Create a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
Requirements:

Experience working with children or young people with SEN, SEMH, or additional needs.

Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills.

A patient, resilient, and empathetic approach.

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

Availability to work full-time, Monday to Friday.
