The Role
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them to access learning, develop confidence and achieve their full potential.
Depending on the assignment, your responsibilities may include:
- Supporting pupils with a range of needs including ASD, ADHD, PMLD and SEMH
- Working alongside teachers to deliver engaging learning experiences
- Providing one-to-one and small group support
- Promoting pupil independence, confidence and wellbeing
- Supporting behaviour management strategies in line with school policies
- Encouraging participation in classroom and enrichment activities
- Building positive relationships with pupils, staff and families

Requirements
To be considered for this role, you will need:
- Experience working with children or young people with SEND, SEMH, or additional needs is desirable
- A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one through Connex Education
- Right to work in the UK
