About the Role
- Science Teacher
- Full-time, permanent position
- Start date of September 2026
- Teaching Science across Key Stages 3 and 4
- Working within a successful and supportive Science department
- Delivering engaging, interactive and high-quality Science lessons
- Planning, preparing and assessing lessons in line with curriculum requirements
- Monitoring student progress and using assessment data to inform teaching and learning
- Promoting high standards of achievement and positive behaviour within the classroom
- Supporting students to achieve their full academic potential
- Contributing to the wider life of the academy through enrichment opportunities and school events
- Working collaboratively with colleagues to develop and enhance the Science curriculum
- Taking responsibility for student progress within allocated classes
- Maintaining accurate assessment records and providing timely feedback to students
- Participating in continued professional development and academy improvement initiatives

Person Specification
To be considered for this role candidates must have / be able to demonstrate:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK.
- A degree or equivalent qualification in a Science-related subject.
- Experience of teaching Science within a British curriculum secondary school.
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
- A commitment to raising standards and improving student outcomes.
- Full enhanced DBS certificate.
- Completion of the Connex Education Onboarding Process.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- The ability to build strong professional relationships with students, colleagues and parents.
- A genuine passion for Science education and supporting young people to succeed.
- A minimum of 2 school-based references.
