SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Handsworth, Birmingham
Pay: £95 – £110 per day
Contract: Full-time | Monday to Friday | Term Time Only

Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and helping them achieve their full potential? We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary academy in Handsworth.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with Special Educational Needs.

• Support children with a range of additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, and social, emotional and mental health needs.

• Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver personalised learning and intervention programmes.

• Encourage positive behaviour, independence and confidence.

• Help create an engaging, safe and inclusive learning environment.

• Build positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues.

The Ideal Candidate

You will:

• Have previous experience supporting children with SEN in a school or similar setting.

• Be patient, caring and adaptable.

• Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Be committed to helping every child achieve their potential.

• Work effectively as part of a team while also using your own initiative.
