Salary: £160 – £250 per day (dependent on experience and assignment)

Connex Education is working in partnership with a number of specialist SEND schools across North Somerset, seeking enthusiastic and committed SEND Teachers to support children and young people with a range of additional learning needs.
These rewarding opportunities are available across specialist settings supporting pupils from Key Stage 1 through to Key Stage 5, making them ideal for teachers with experience in primary, middle school or secondary education who are passionate about inclusive teaching.

About the Role
As a SEND Teacher, you will:
- Deliver engaging, high-quality lessons in line with the National Curriculum, adapting learning to meet individual pupil needs.
- Teach pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) and associated learning needs.
- Create a calm, nurturing and structured classroom environment where pupils feel safe, valued and able to succeed.
- Differentiate learning to ensure every pupil can access the curriculum and make meaningful progress.
- Assess, monitor and record pupil progress, providing personalised feedback that supports ongoing development.
- Work closely with Teaching Assistants, therapists, key workers and external professionals to deliver holistic support.
- Promote positive behaviour, independence, confidence and emotional wellbeing through consistent, relationship-based practice.
- Contribute to individual learning plans and work collaboratively to achieve the best possible outcomes for every pupil.
- Maintain high standards of safeguarding, professionalism and inclusive practice.
About You
We’re looking for teachers who:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Have experience teaching across a range of Key Stages or within specialist SEND settings.
- Have experience supporting pupils with autism, ADHD or other additional learning needs, or are eager to develop within specialist education.
- Are adaptable, patient and resilient, with excellent classroom management skills.
- Believe in creating engaging, personalised learning experiences for every child.
- Are committed to working collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Have a genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning and achieve success.
