About the Role

This is a great opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, students, parents, or individuals with experience working with young people who are looking for flexible work that fits around their lifestyle. Whether you are available for 2–5 days per week, short-term assignments, or longer-term placements, we can support you in finding opportunities that suit your availability.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will support students during teacher absence by delivering pre-set work provided by the school. The role is ideal for someone who can quickly build positive relationships with pupils, communicate effectively, and create a calm and productive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Supervise classes in the absence of the regular teacher.
• Deliver work set by the class teacher and support pupils with their learning.
• Build positive relationships with students aged 11–16.
• Encourage students to remain focused, engaged and motivated.
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with school expectations.
• Provide support and guidance to pupils where appropriate.
• Work professionally alongside school staff and colleagues.
• Follow all school policies, safeguarding procedures and expectations.

Person Specification
• A degree or equivalent qualification is preferred, although candidates with proven experience working in schools or with young people will be considered.
• Experience working with secondary-aged pupils (11–16) is desirable.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build quick, positive relationships.
• Confidence supporting students and managing a classroom environment.
• A genuine passion for supporting young people and education.
• Ability to adapt quickly to different school settings and expectations.
• Commitment to equality, inclusion and diversity.
• Understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities.
