About the Role
Connex Education is recruiting Supply Teachers to work across primary schools in Alvaston, Allenton, Chellaston and the wider DE24 area from September 2026.
With the new academic year approaching, we are looking to speak with teachers who are interested in flexible supply work, short-term assignments or longer-term opportunities across local primary schools.
As a Supply Teacher, you will deliver engaging lessons across EYFS, KS1 and KS2, maintain positive classroom environments and ensure pupils continue to receive high-quality teaching in the absence of their usual class teacher.
We welcome applications from both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs).
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging lessons in line with the school’s curriculum and planning.
- Create a positive, inclusive and well-managed classroom environment.
- Manage behaviour confidently and consistently.
- Adapt quickly to different schools, year groups and classroom routines.
- Ensure pupils remain engaged and make progress throughout the school day.
- Work professionally and collaboratively with teaching and support staff.

Person Specification
We’re looking for candidates who have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Recent experience teaching within a UK primary school or completing a UK teacher training placement.
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
- Confidence teaching across different year groups and adapting to new environments.
- Excellent communication skills and a professional, reliable approach.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply.
