Connex Education are recruiting for a dedicated and experienced 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a child with additional needs in a mainstream academy school in Runcorn.
Salary subject to qualification and experience, previous experience essential, must have right to work in the UK
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant with a strong KS2 background, previous SEN experience, and confident behaviour management skills.
The Role
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a child with additional needs.
- Support the pupil academically, socially and emotionally throughout the school day.
- Encourage positive engagement, confidence and independence.
- Implement appropriate strategies to support learning and behaviour.
- Work closely with the class teacher and wider school team.
- Maintain a calm, consistent and nurturing approach.
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience working in a KS2 setting is essential.
- Previous SEN experience is essential.
- Excellent behaviour management skills.
- Patient, resilient and nurturing in your approach.
- Confident supporting pupils with additional needs.
- Able to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
- A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development.

The Opportunity
This is a full-time, ongoing temporary position starting September 2026, with the potential to become permanent for the successful candidate.
