I highly recommend Connex to anyone for educational work. They always have a variety of shifts and assignments available, so there’s plenty of work to choose from. Sean has been very helpful; he replies very quickly and is always available, which everything much easier. Connex, with its very good staff, truly stands out as a reliable and supportive company in the education field.

Yes, as long as you are fully registered with the Irish Teaching Council.
It’s an easy and simple free online application process to gain QTS. Whereas an Irish teacher can teach in the UK without for up to 4 years, I would highly recommend you apply for QTS if you are going to teach in the UK as it is sometimes the first question schools will ask is, ‘Do you have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)?’
You can apply direct for education jobs through local councils, but primary and secondary schools use agencies for supply staff not only for day-to-day and long-term sickness cover but for various part-time and full-time roles they need to recruit for. Signing up with a well-established agency like Connex Education will give you more opportunities to work in a diverse range of classroom settings.
Having taught the Irish Primary curriculum for 10 years and the UK Primary Curriculum for 3 years, I will be able to give you a detailed insight into the UK curriculum, help you with your CV, provide resources for all year groups and the exact documents required to ensure a smooth transition. I will also be able to set up a meet and greet to discuss options.
I work with the Liverpool Branch, which is one of the busiest branches in the UK, and we have branches in all the major cities in the UK: London, Manchester, Birmingham, Sheffield, Derby, Nottingham, Cardiff, Coventry and many more. Wherever you are planning to move to in the UK, we will be able to support in finding the best role for you.
