We are searching for an experienced SEN teacher/tutor to provide home tutoring for students who are unable to attend school in Liverpool. These students need assistance in Maths, English, and Science and require a compassionate, knowledgeable, and patient teacher to meet their educational needs. To succeed in this role, it’s essential to have QTS or a minimum of 3 years of teaching experience with students with additional needs.

Please note that this role does not start immediately; we need to closely match your experience with our students’ needs.

Students referred to us often have complex learning requirements. Specific experience in the following areas would be beneficial:

  • SEMH
  • Dyslexia/Dyspraxia
  • Trauma

You’ll be providing in-person tuition to students of all abilities who have either disengaged from education or are struggling to meet age-related academic expectations. Your expertise will play a crucial role in boosting self-confidence, subject knowledge, and ultimately achieving positive outcomes for all students.

  • Minimum of 10 hours per week, with flexible days and times
  • 1:1 sessions conducted in the student’s home, accompanied by a parent or carer
  • Opportunity to support more than one student if you require more than 10 hours per week
  • Travel expenses covered for assignments less than 3 hours per day

  • Develop lesson plans and deliver tuition programs designed to engage, inspire, and educate students.
  • Provide session engagement reports for all tutoring sessions.
  • Collaborate with the school, local authority, and other stakeholders to support the student effectively.
  • Participate in necessary training and adhere to safeguarding principles.

Experience in supporting students with SEN/SEMH is a vital requirement for this role. Candidates without this experience will not be considered.
