Role: 1:1 Teaching Assistant
Rate of pay: £425 – £475
Location: Birmingham, King’s Norton
**About the role**
We are seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) within a mainstream primary school. You will work closely with the class teacher and support staff to provide tailored support that meets the pupil’s individual needs. Your role will include assisting with day-to-day learning, implementing personalised strategies, supporting communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation, and encouraging independence in the classroom and social settings. You will also help reinforce positive behaviour, observe and record progress, and collaborate with families and the school team to ensure a consistent approach. This role is ideal for a patient, compassionate individual passionate about helping children with ASD thrive academically and socially.

**Role Requirements**
- Supporting Teaching and Learning or Equivalent UK Educational qualification is desirable.
- Previous experience working in Educational is essential.
- A commitment to promoting equality and diversity in the classroom
- Experience supporting SEN is required
- An understanding of child protection and safeguarding guidelines
- Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one through Connex Education.
