I am working with a school in Northwich who are looking for a Teaching Assistant to join their team from September. This is working Monday – Friday from 8.30am – 3.30pm.
The school I am working with caters for children with additional needs such as Autism, Severe Learning Difficulties and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties. Delivering a specialised curriculum to both primary and secondary ages students, the school prides itself on providing an enriched and safe learning environment for all students.
As the successfull applicant, you will be working in a Key Stage 2 Class of 8 children. You will be expected to provide general classroom support, as well as working on 1:1 basis on occassions. You will liase with parents, teachers and healthcare professionals throughout the school, as well as contributing to and adhering to Education Health Care Plans. In addition to this, you will be expected to prepare the classroom and learning resources, encourage students to participate in social interaction and watch and record student’s progress.
Due to the nature of this role, any experience using Alternative Communication Methods would be advantageous when applying for this role – as would any relevant supporting qualifications. You must have experience working with additional needs in either a school or a residential setting and have a DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for a new one.
