I am working with a school who are looking for a Teaching Assistant to join their team from September. This role is Monday – Friday, working term time only.
The school provide high quality education and care to students with Severe Learning Difficulties and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties. The school is an excellent resourced and the staff and students at this school work hard to ensure everyone reaches their full potential, through a stimulating, personalised curriculum, whilst building independence, resilience and character.
As the successful applicant, you will be working with secondary aged students in small groups and on a 1:1 basis. You will be working with students with a range of needs, including hearing impairments. Working closely with other staff memebers, you will be providing the students with the tools and resources needed in order for them to have full access to the curriculum.
To be successful in this role, you must be patient and supportive and be able to adapt your teaching style to suit various needs. As you will be working with hearing impaired students, it is essential that you have a Level 2 BSL qualification and have experience working with Special Educational Needs in either a school or a residential setting. You must have a DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for a new one.
