About the Role
We are seeking to appoint a highly organised and detail-focused Data and Exams Manager to join our secondary school from September 2026.
This is a key operational role, responsible for the accurate and timely management of the school’s student data systems and the smooth running of all internal and external examinations.
This is initially offered as a temporary post, with a genuine view to becoming permanent for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the whole-school MIS (e.g. SIMS/Arbor/Bromcom), ensuring data accuracy and integrity across all systems
- Oversee the full examinations cycle, including entries, timetabling, results, and liaison with awarding bodies (JCQ compliance)
- Produce and analyse data reports for senior leaders, governors, and external bodies (e.g. DfE census returns)
- Line manage exams invigilation staff and coordinate exam room logistics
- Ensure compliance with JCQ regulations and safeguard the integrity of the examination process
- Support senior leaders with data for self-evaluation, target-setting, and performance tracking
- Act as the main point of contact for data and exams queries from staff, students, and parents
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience of managing exams and/or data in a secondary school setting (essential)
- Strong working knowledge of MIS software and exam board portals
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy under pressure
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, particularly during peak exam periods
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work with staff at all levels
- JCQ Exams Officer qualification or willingness to work towards this (desirable)
