Connex Education is working in partnership with a number of welcoming primary schools across Leeds who are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Early Years Teachers for both day-to-day supply and longer-term assignments within the Early Years Foundation Stage.
Whether you’re looking for flexible supply work, a long-term position, or the opportunity to experience different school settings, we have opportunities available throughout the academic year to suit your preferences and availability.
The role
As an Early Years Teacher, you’ll play an important role in helping children develop confidence, curiosity and a love of learning during the earliest stages of their educational journey.
Depending on the placement, you will:
- Deliver engaging, curriculum-led lessons within the Early Years Foundation Stage
- Create a positive, nurturing and structured learning environment
- Support children’s academic, social and emotional development
- Build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and families
- Monitor progress and contribute to ongoing assessment activities
- Undertake full classroom responsibilities during longer-term placements
For day-to-day supply assignments, lesson planning is not typically required, with schools providing resources and guidance to support your day.

Assignment details
Roles are available on both a part-time and full-time basis and are offered throughout the academic year.

Schools are generally accessible via local transport links, although access to your own transport may be beneficial depending on the location of individual placements.

What we’re looking for
To be considered for this role, you will:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Have experience teaching within the Early Years Foundation Stage in a UK primary school setting
- Demonstrate strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- Be confident delivering engaging and age-appropriate learning experiences
- Have a good understanding of the primary curriculum and assessment frameworks
- Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to obtain one
- Have the right to work in the UK
