Teacher of French – Secondary School (Birmingham B17 area)
Start Date: After Easter 2025 or ASAP
Contract: Full-time, Maternity Cover
Duration: Until at least December 2025
Salary: £165 – £245 per day (dependent on experience)
Connex Education is seeking a dedicated Teacher of French to join a secondary school in Birmingham ASAP and after Easter on a long term full-time basis. The school has excellent student behaviour and a supportive senior leadership team (SLT).
About the Role:
- Teaching French KS3 & KS4 full-time.
- Planning, preparing, and marking work while fully taking on the responsibilities of the absent teacher.
- Long-term position starting after Easter 2025, lasting until at least December 2025.
- The school is looking for someone with recent experience teaching the UK curriculum in MFL.
Assignment Details:
- Full-time maternity cover until at least December 2025.
- Paid to scale (MPS1-UPS1).
- Potential for permanent opportunities for the right candidate.
- Applications are welcome from teachers at all career stages, including ECTs, UQT, QTS, and QTLS holders.
Person Specification:
- Experience teaching French up to KS4.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage and motivate students.
- Resilient, calm under pressure, and adaptable to different teaching challenges.
- QTS / QTLS / ECT or long-term UK curriculum teaching experience required.
- Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one.
- An outstanding practitioner with high expectations of student progress and achievement.
