Connex Education is delighted to be working with a 7–16-year-old SEMH special school, an exceptional school committed to nurturing and educating young minds. We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team and make a positive impact on the lives of students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with SEN, ensuring they can access the curriculum effectively.
  • Assist the classroom teacher with differentiated learning strategies to meet the needs of SEN students.
  • Promote a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Help to implement individual learning plans (ILPs) and contribute to the monitoring and reviewing of student progress.
  • Support the emotional and social development of SEN pupils.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff, SENCO, and other professionals to create a tailored learning experience.
  • Assist with personal care when necessary and contribute to the well-being of students.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN in an educational setting.
  • A patient, empathetic, and supportive approach to working with students who have additional needs.
  • The ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent) is desirable, but not essential.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
