Position: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
Location: Islington, London
Day Rate: £100 – £120
Contract Type: Full-time (Jan – July 2025)
About the Role: We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant primary school in Islington. The successful candidate will work across all year groups from Nursery to Year 6, providing high-quality classroom support and delivering lessons when required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver teaching activities to pupils, covering PPA and teacher absence
- Support teaching and learning across EYFS, KS1, and KS2
- Work collaboratively with teachers to ensure excellent pupil progress
- Provide targeted support to individuals and small groups
- Assist in creating a positive learning environment
- Support assessment and recording of pupil progress
- Participate in playground duties and school events
Essential Requirements:
- HLTA status or higher teaching qualification
- Proven experience working across primary age ranges (Nursery – Year 6)
- Strong literacy and numeracy skills
- Excellent classroom management abilities
- Good understanding of the primary curriculum
- Experience in planning and delivering lessons
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Desirable:
- Experience in SEND support
- First aid qualification
- Experience with phonics teaching
