About the Role
Connex Education Leicester is working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive primary school in the LE2 area of Leicester to recruit a full-time Year 5 Teacher for a fixed-term maternity cover from August 2026 until February 2027.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a friendly school with a fantastic KS2 team, teaching a well-established Year 5 class. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering engaging lessons, supporting pupils’ academic progress, and contributing positively to the wider school community throughout the maternity cover.
Whether you’re an experienced KS2 teacher or an ECT with relevant placement experience, this role offers the chance to make a real impact within a collaborative and welcoming environment.

- Based at a primary school in the LE2 area of Leicester
- Planning, preparation, assessment and full classroom responsibilities

Person Specification
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Recent experience teaching within Key Stage 2
- Experience teaching Upper KS2, ideally Year 5
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- Passionate about delivering high-quality teaching and learning
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one
