Assignment Details
- Flexible, part-time role to provide cover for daily sickness and short-term absence
- Monday to Friday availability (Term Time Only) – choose the days that suit you
- Working hours: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- Opportunities for both ad-hoc and short-term bookings

About the Role
Connex Education is working with a large and inclusive mainstream primary school in Waltham Forest to recruit bank/supply Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to support pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This is an ideal role for individuals seeking flexible, part-time work and the opportunity to gain valuable experience across different classes.
As an LSA, you will provide essential 1:1 and small group support to pupils with ASD, helping them access the curriculum, regulate emotions, and develop social and communication skills. Your role will be to ensure continuity of support and inclusion during periods of staff absence.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and in-class support for pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder
- Use visual supports, routines, and tailored strategies to help pupils engage in learning
- Encourage social interaction and assist with emotional regulation
- Work alongside the class teacher and SENCO to support EHCP targets
- Promote inclusion and confidence for pupils in all aspects of school life
Person Specification
- Experience supporting pupils with ASD in a school or similar setting (essential)
- A calm, patient, and consistent approach to behaviour and learning support
- Ability to quickly adapt to different classrooms and pupil needs
A current DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one through Connex
