Learning Support Assistant/SEND Teaching Assistant

£85 – £95 per day, dependent on qualifications and experience
Monday to Friday – 8:30am to 3:30pm, some training days until 5pm(will be paid extra)
About the role
Connex Education is seeking an experienced a learning support assistant/SEND Teaching Assistant for a full-time role within a SEND school in Sheffield. To support pupils aged 7 – 19 within the classroom and also on a 1-1 basis, using individual timetables based on their needs, interests and specific outcomes from the EHCP’s

The school has a hands-on approach using land and craft curriculum which is enriched with drama and art components, fostering the growth of students’ confidence, social adeptness, communication skills, and self-understanding. Emphasis is placed on outdoor engagement, encouraging pupils to maximize their time spent outside each day.

Person Specification
- Experience working with children with SEND/SEMH conditions.
- Must be 21 or over
- Knowledge of child development and learning needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Must hold a DBS on update service or willing to apply for one.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
- Flexibility and willingness to adapt lessons as needed.
- Good organization and multitasking abilities
