Job Title: MAPA / Team Teach Trained Tutor, Teaching Assistant, or Teacher
Location: Birmingham (multiple locations available)
Hours: Flexible (part-time / full-time / sessional options available)
Overview:
We are seeking experienced and compassionate education professionals to join our growing team supporting learners across the Birmingham area. This role is ideal for a Tutor, Teaching Assistant, or Qualified Teacher (QTS preferred) with MAPA or Team Teach training, who is confident working with children and young people with additional needs. We currently have a requirement for work in both schools and students homes as a Home Tutor – it is up to you!
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored educational support to students in a variety of settings
- Support pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and/or Special Educational Needs (SEN)
- Implement behaviour management strategies in line with MAPA or Team Teach approaches
- Build positive, trusting relationships with students to support engagement and progress
- Work collaboratively with schools, parents, and external professionals
- Adapt learning materials to meet individual needs
Requirements:
- MAPA or Team Teach training (essential)
- Experience working with children or young people in an educational or care setting
- QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) desirable but not essential
- Strong behaviour management skills
- Flexible, resilient, and proactive approach
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Full UK driving licence (desirable due to multiple locations)
