Connex - Tutors
Role: Pastoral Mentor/Tutor
Location: Face-to-Face, in Home or School, Bradford
Hours: Monday to Friday, Flexible Hours
Contract: Part-Time/Full-Time Options Available – SEPTEMBER START
Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 and small group pastoral mentoring and tutoring to students with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs.

Support students’ emotional well-being, self-esteem, and social development alongside academic progress.

Build trusted relationships to help re-engage learners who may be at risk of exclusion or non-attendance.
-
Use tailored, trauma-informed approaches to manage behaviour and create a calm, supportive learning environment.

Develop and implement individual support plans in collaboration with teachers, parents/carers, and external professionals.

Monitor student progress and adjust support strategies accordingly.

Promote positive coping strategies, resilience, and goal setting.
Requirements:
-
Experience working with children or young people with SEMH/SEN needs, in education, care, or youth work settings.

Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong, supportive relationships with students.

A compassionate, non-judgmental approach with high emotional intelligence.

Good understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality, and child protection procedures.

Relevant qualifications in education, youth work, psychology, or support work (desirable but not essential).

Ability to work independently and flexibly across a range of settings.
