Connex Education are working with an alternative provision local to Widnes who are recruiting for a full time Pastoral Worker to start asap.
The provision offers pupils a high-quality education to students who are struggling in mainstream. The pupils are from a range of backgrounds and have a range of unique needs. All staff are dedicated to providing academic and pastoral support to all pupils as well as providing them a calm learning environment in which they can succeed.
This role is a unique role, we are looking for someone who can ensure the physical and emotional welfare of pupils.

Your role and responsibilities will include:
- Liaising with families, social workers and outside agencies
- To oversee behaviour and de-escalation techniques
- To help support students access learning and integrate new students
- To oversee attendance and liaise with families, deal with transport and record attendance issues
- To provide a positive and supportive environment for all pupils
This is a full-time role. The hours will be 8.30am until 3.30pm Monday-Friday. This role will commence ASAP.
To apply for the role you must:
- Have a support worker, youth worker background
- Have a childcare or relatable qualification
- Have experience of supporting pupils with SEMH either in a School or a similar setting
- Be confident in working with challenging behaviour
- Have a current DBS on the update service or willing to provide a new one
