The Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Physical Education Teacher to join our PE department on a full-time basis for the autumn term. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher or an early career teacher looking to make a real impact in a supportive school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and inspiring PE lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
- Plan and prepare lessons that meet the needs of all students
- Assess and monitor student progress effectively
- Contribute to extracurricular sports activities and school teams
- Support the pastoral care of students within the school community
- Collaborate with colleagues in the PE department and across the school
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to reporting procedures
Person Specification
Essential:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or related field
- Strong subject knowledge across a range of sports and physical activities
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare
- Ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities
Desirable:
- Experience teaching in a secondary school environment
- Additional coaching qualifications in specific sports
- Knowledge of current PE curriculum and assessment requirements
- Experience with sports fixtures and competitions
