£675 – £750 PW (Based on 37.5 Hours)

About the role
Connex Education is recruiting for a Qualified Teacher to work on a one-to-one basis with a student with ASD who is not attending Primary School.
This flexible role allows you to manage your own schedule while working closely with students outside of a traditional classroom environment, giving you a unique chance to directly witness the impact of your teaching on their learning progress.
Tuition takes place within the student’s home, typically consisting of three to four sessions per week. The student is non-verbal and has significant developmental delay with speech and Language which impact their communication needs. These high communication need makes social interactions difficult, so the ideal teacher would be confident with using PEC’s.
The sessions would need tailoring to support engagement and be play based to aid build of basic skills. The student responds well to objects of reference alongside symbols and pictures, and having a now next board allows clear direction of activities. A sensory interactive led session would benefit this student to develop their learning.
We are seeking a tutor who can provide a calm, nurturing, and consistent environment, fostering the development of each student’s confidence and skill set. As a Home Tutor, a dynamic teaching style is key, along with the ability to quickly identify areas for improvement and adjust strategies when working one-on-one.
Assignment Details
This role will start as soon as possible and will last until the end of the academic year.

Role Requirements
- QTS / QTLS or equivalent
- Previous experience working with SEN Students would be desirable.
- PEC’s
- Resilience and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- An enhanced DBS on the update service or prepared to apply for a new one.
- An outstanding practitioner with high expectations.
- Driving license (Preferred).
