Job Title: PMLD Teaching Assistant

Location: Sheffield

Hours: 8:30am to 3:30pm

Days: (full time and part time) Monday to Friday – this may lead to a permanent position with the school

£90 to £95 Per Day dependent on experience

About the role

Are you a dedicated and compassionate individual with a passion for making a difference in the lives of children with profound learning difficulties. The school provides for secondary age pupils aged who have special educational needs from a variety of conditions, most of which have autism and profound learning difficulties. Staff will need to have the ability to foster strong relationships with the children and to support them with their learning and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing tailored support and working with children with SEN and complex needs
  • Personal care and hoisting(moving and handing) needed for the role
  • Creating a safe environment that allows children and other students have fun, learn and succeed
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to stay calm under pressure.

Requirements:

  • Experience of supporting adults or children with SEND on a voluntary or paid basis OR/ experience of supporting those with complex needs in a care setting
  • Strong team work ethic
  • Driven, energetic and keen to pursue a career in education and special needs
  • Moving and handing and personal care required
