About the role
Connex Education are seeking passionate and resilient Primary Teachers (QTS or ECT) to work within specialist SEMH schools and alternative provisions across South Gloucestershire and Bristol.
This is a fantastic opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of children who require additional emotional, social and behavioural support. The pupils you’ll support have a range of Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and may also present with Autism (ASC), ADHD, attachment needs, trauma-related behaviours, anxiety, emotional regulation difficulties and other additional learning needs. Many pupils have experienced disrupted education and benefit from consistent, patient and nurturing adults who can help rebuild their confidence and engagement with learning.
Working alongside experienced Teaching Assistants, pastoral teams and therapeutic professionals, you’ll create a safe, structured and engaging classroom where every child has the opportunity to achieve.

- Adapt teaching strategies to meet a range of SEMH, behavioural and additional learning needs.
- Implement positive behaviour management and restorative approaches to support emotional regulation.
- Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs, therapists and wider pastoral teams.
- Monitor progress, celebrate achievements and contribute towards individual learning targets.
- Promote confidence, resilience, independence and positive outcomes for every learner.
