About the Role:
Connex Education are looking for an experienced 1-1 SEND Teaching Assistant to work in a mainstream school in Warrington on a full time basis. The working hours are 8.30am – 3.30pm, Monday to Friday. However if the right candidate can only offer 3 or 4 days this will be considered,as it’s more about finding the right support than filling a gap. School have requested that we find someone who is familar with phonics programmes (read, write, inc. or little wandle) along with experenice of working 1-1 with SEND pupils. Strong behaviour mamagement is essential for this role, along with previous experience.
About the School:
We are a two form entry Church of England Aided school
The school has separate Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 buildings. The Key Stage 1 building has an additional hall, playgrounds and indoor activity areas.
The school is in a beautiful, quiet position with many wooded areas, overlooking the canal and has extensive playing fields. We have our own eco garden, forest school, timber trail, all weather football pitch and quiet area for the children to enjoy at play times and lunch times.
Assignment Details:
The Headteacher is ideally looking for someone to start immediately, however will be willing to wait for those suitable candidates who may be working their notice period. The role is more about finding the right fit to support the needs of the child. They are looking for someone who has good Math’s and literacy skills, as the aim of this role is to support and integrate the child back into the classroom
Person Specification:
- Have experience of supporting pupils with Special Needs or working 1-1 within a mainstream Primary School or a similar setting.
- Be confident supporting behaviours that challenge.
- Have a current DBS on the update service or willing to provide a new one.
