Connex Education is partnering with a primary school in the Middlesbrough area to find an enthusiastic and qualified Teaching Assistant. About the Setting
In this role you’ll be joining a supportive and dedicated team, working closely with class teachers to deliver high-quality learning experiences. The school is committed to creating an inclusive environment where every pupil is encouraged to succeed.
Assignment Details
This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday. You will be working within the classroom to support the class teacher, assisting pupils both individually and in small groups. The ideal candidate will have experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Key Stage 1 (KS1) or Key Stage 2 (KS2) classroom support
- Supporting literacy and numeracy development
- Working with pupils with additional needs or SEND
- Behaviour management and positive reinforcement strategies
A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is essential for this role. Experience in a primary school or similar educational setting is highly desirable. This is an ongoing role with an immediate start.
Person Specification
- Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification — essential
- Able to support children both 1:1 and within small groups under teacher direction
- Calm, consistent, and solutions-focused under pressure
- A warm, patient, and encouraging approach to supporting children’s learning
- Previous experience working with primary-age children in a school or educational setting — desirable
- Current DBS on the update service, or willing to apply for a new one
